The best apps to help you through college
With the start of the autumn semester fast approaching, we decided to look into some of the cleverest and most helpful apps for students.
1. Any.do
Any.do is one of the best to-do apps on the market. It stands out mostly for its unique take on task management; for better and worse, it doesn't display tasks the way other apps do.
Rather than use different lists as the main way to organise your life ("home," "work" and so on), Any.do defaults to showing what you need to get done today, tomorrow, further out (the next week, say) and "someday." Naturally, you can put items into different lists as well, but the main interface is designed around managing what you said you wanted to get done today, regardless of whether it's a personal item or something from your college/work list.
2. CliffsNotes
This one is perfect for students who study literature and write papers on things they’ve read. CliffsNotes will provide you with information about every character, plot, and theme, as well as summaries of every book you read. The audio version is available here, so you can listen to all this info during walks or work to get ready for literature tests.
3. EasyBib
What’s the hardest part of essay writing? The majority of college students would probably say creating a list of citations (don’t forget that you have to know MLA or APA style to format it). If you’re one of these students, EasyBib is the right app for you. Just enter a book’s title and the app does the rest. All you have to do is copy the citation into your bibliography.
4. Studious
Do you sometimes forget about the date and time of your test? Do you find it hard to keep track of your deadlines, homework, the time of your next lecture, or the subject of your next class? Thanks to Studious, this problem will be solved once and forever. All you need to do is to enter information about your classes (time, professor, location etc.) and this cool application will remind you about it just in time!
5. Mint.com
Is your money disappearing too quickly? Many college students have problems with cash flow. Mint.com can help you to control your budget and clearly see where your money is going. Who knows, you might end up with a few more euro at the end of the week!
Have a great year!
