Want to cover your company vehicles? Check out this information on fleet insurance

Do you have five or more vehicles? Make sure your cars, vans and trucks (and their drivers) are covered in the event of an accident by taking out motor fleet insurance. Here’s some information that might come in handy:

There are three types of cover:

  • Comprehensive - This covers you in the event of fire, theft or attempted theft, or accidental damage to your vehicles, in addition to any Third Party personal injury or damaged property claims made as a result of an accident.
  • Third Party Fire and Theft – This is similar to comprehensive but it doesn’t cover accidental damage.
  • Third Party Only - This covers any Third Party personal injury or damaged property claims made against you as a result of an accident.

Open Drive

Any person between a certain age (normally 17-70 for full and 23-70 for restricted) and who has the policy holder’s permission is allowed to drive the vehicle as long as they have a full clean/unendorsed Irish driving licence.

Driver Cover

It’s important to note that these policies do not cover the driver in the case of accidental injury. A separate Personal Accident policy needs to be taken out for drivers.
